Aero Excellence™ : Accelerating global performance
Aero Excellence™ helps your business achieve operational, environmental and cyber excellence – measured through a standardised and internationally relevant assessment to improve your competitiveness and gain visibility in international supply chains.

Helping you compete, comply and grow faster internationally
Aero Excellence™ is designed for organisations who want to expand internationally and desire an assessment and improvement programme that meets rising customer expectations within an increasing regulatory landscape.
Through continuous improvement, participants raise their operational efficiency, environmental sustainability and cyber security robustness.
Performance is measured through an assessment, a universal language recognised by OEMs. It provides you with a clear, site-wide view of your operational maturity – so you can take focused, effective action.

Assess, reflect and improve with expert guidance
Whether you’re already improving your capability through an improvement programme like SC21 or beginning your journey to operational maturity, Aero Excellence™ offers a route to succeed.
You start by using the best practice Maturity Grid for initial self-evaluation. Once completed, you can progress to more in-depth evaluation and validation, engaging with qualified experts over three days to assess your strengths and areas for improvement. The resulting tailored improvement plan will help you to strengthen capability, close performance gaps and grow with confidence. Once you have your evaluation, you can share it with many customers, reducing the need to undertake multiple customer assessments.
Performance in your level of maturity is recognition by the awarding of Bronze, Silver or Gold status.

How do I register and what are the first steps?
ADS manages the Aero Excellence programme in the UK.
Suppliers interested in joining the programme should register via the main Aero Excellence website to gain access to the platform and the assessment area called the Maturity Grid. We will be notified when you register your details and will help you with your onboarding.
Once your registration has been validated, you will receive log in details.
You can decide on your subscription type and start your self-assessment.
After the self-assessment is completed you can request an official assessment, which is done by either qualified OEM customer assessors or approved third party independent assessors. You will be part of the sign-off of your official assessment and will be able to view your final report within your company profile at any time.
Let’s get started! Go to Aero Excellence website here.
Who is it aimed at?
The Aero Excellence programme is relevant for any manufacturing or distribution company that supplies (or could supply) into the aerospace, defence and space markets.
What is the Maturity Grid?
The Maturity Grid is the portal where you manage your assessments. You can create your profile, complete the assessments and view your results all within the Maturity Grid.
How long does the assessment take?
The initial self-assessment is driven by you. If you have all the relevant information and people to hand, it can be done in a few sittings.
The official assessment will require a one-day remote review, followed by a three-day site assessment. This route is mandatory if you want to receive an award*.
*A full subscription is required to receive an award.
Can I share my assessment with whoever I want to?
Yes, you can.
One of the benefits of Aero Excellence is that your standardised assessment can be used by multiple international customers. You have full autonomy over your profile and data within the Aero Excellence platform. You choose which Customers and potential Customers can see your profile/official assessment report.
How long are the awards valid for?
Awards are valid for three years from the closing date of the full assessment. This is also the issue date for your award certificate.
Please note that for the award to remain valid, you must remain subscribed to the Aero Excellence platform.
How would my company's success be made visible?
We are as thrilled as you are when you receive an award.
We share your achievements through our LinkedIn profile, our blogs, and other communications across our SCS and ADS channels.
For Customers, the Aero Excellence platform is the go-to point to access information on awarded suppliers.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on a few factors including whether you are being sponsored by a leading customer or doing this independently.
If you want to have full access to the benefits of Aero Excellence, including submitting for an award and sharing your assessment (e.g., with new potential customers!) then you will be required to fully subscribe to the platform.
Fee per annum:
- £1,000 for sites with less than 50 employees
- £1,500 for sites with between 50 – 250 employees
- £2,000 for sites with more than 250 employees
